Slacker (Finaly a website after my own heart)

Free streaming music, that is what Slacker does and they do it well. Slacker is in its simplest form a internet radio site, but offering much more then your average internet radio station. First unlike most internet music stations, that are an after thought of their physical radio station counterparts, or other media streaming services (e.g. Rhapsody) slacker is devoted to bringing you uninterrupted music for free. They say that you can expect about two ads per hour but I have been listening to it for the past hour and I have yet to hear a single ad, but there is a pay version for those who don't ever want to hear an ad. Second unlike other streaming music services that make you pay if you want to take the service with you slacker enables you to take the service with you where ever you might go with their portable radio players that can hold 15, 25, and 40 stations with prices of $200, $250, and $300 respectively. Slacker is a great service that is worth a little time and attention.

My play list while writing this:
"Hey Hey"-October Fall
"Crushcrushcrush"-Paramore
"I Woke Up In A Car"-Something Corporate
"Ocean Avenue"-Yellowcard
"There's A Case For This"-Cute Is What We Aim For
"I Write Sins Not Tragedies"-Panic At The Disco
"Thanks For The Mmrs"-Fall Out Boy
"Tonight Lites"- A Cursive Memory
"Hate (I Really Don't Like You)"-Plain White T's
"Hero/Heroine"-Boys Like Girls
"Flashlight"-Punchline
"Sweetness"-Jimmy Eat World
"Light Up The Sky"-Yellowcard

Simply Epic (Summer Mux)

I stayed up all night crafting it. It is like my musical baby, I nursed it, I cared for it, I loved it to life. And now it is here, my summer Muxtape. It (much like myself) has something for everyone. Go here to listen.

Bebo Norman (Borrow Mine)

While I was writing tonight I was trying to find some good music to listen to, I found this song that I haven't listened to in a while. It is one of my favorite Bebo Norman songs and it voices the need for a good community of friends very well.

Bebo Norman-Borrow Mine

Take my hand and walk with me a while
Cause it seems your smile has left you
And don't give in, when you fall apart
And your broken heart has failed you
I'll set a light up
On a hilltop
To show you my love
For this world to see

You can borrow mine
When your hope is gone
Borrow mine
When you can't go on
'Cause the world will not defeat you
When we're side by side
When your faith is hard to find
You can borrow mine

Take my love when all that you can see
Is the raging sea all around us
And don't give up 'cause I'm not letting go
And the God we know will not fail us
We'll lay it all down
As we call out
Sweet Savior
help our unbelief

You can borrow mine
When your hope is gone
Borrow mine
When you can't go on
'Cause the world will not defeat you
When we're side by side
When your faith is hard to find
You can borrow mine

When you are weak
Unable to speak
You are not alone
The God who has saved us
Will never forsake us
he's coming to take us
Take us to our home

You can borrow mine
When your hope is gone
Borrow mine
When you can't go on
'Cause the world will not defeat you
When we're side by side
When your faith is hard to find
When your faith is hard to find
You can borrow mine

Take my hand
Take my love
Don't give in
Don't give up

Another year

So I just registered for classes the other day. I get to take all of my classes online this semester, I am looking forward to that. Besides math (which it seems like I will be taking for years) I am taking
Music 151: Exploring Music
Astronomy 102: Stars, Galaxies, Universe
Writing 101
The nice thing about having all my classes online is that I get to sleep in one day during the week. I am really looking forward sleeping in.

The Echoing Green
The Story Of Our Lives

Tonight
our dreams are in our sights,
as we're lifted out of nowhere
with sunspots in our eyes,
we see the glory of our lives
our hearts are burning bright
as we're lifted out of nowhere
our songs all stay behind
to sing the story of our lives
This is the story of our lives

anything and everything is meaningless
when forever's waiting
we're captivesto this place... for now
so we take our hopes
and hold them away
chain them to the throes of yesterday
but the chains are getting tight...

Tonight
our dreams are in our sights,
as we're lifted out of nowhere
with sunspots in our eyes,
we see the glory of our lives
our hearts are burning bright
as we're lifted out of nowhere
our songs all stay behind
to sing the story of our lives

in this place
where lonlines is neverending
condescending
and leaves a bitter taste... for now
and our hearts weighed down
with nothing to say
as darkness steals our innocence away
but now we're seeing light...

Tonight
our dreams are in our sights,
as we're lifted out of nowhere
with sunspots in our eyes,
we see the glory of our lives
our hearts are burning bright
as we're lifted out of nowhere
our songs all stay behind
to sing the story of our lives

[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
The story of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
The story of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]

Tonight
our dreams are in our sights,
as we're lifted out of nowhere
with sunspots in our eyes,
we see the glory of our lives
our hearts are burning bright
as we're lifted out of nowhere
The pain all falls behind
Behold the glory of our lives

[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
This is the story of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
Behold the glory of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
This is the story of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our]
Behold the glory of our lives
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our lives]
[The story of our, glory of our, story of our lives]
This is the story of our lives

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND - Grey Street

Oh look at how she listens
She says nothing of what she thinks
She just goes stumbling through her memories
Staring out on to Grey Street.
She thinks, "Hey, how did I come to this?"
I dream myself a thousand times around the world
But I can't get out of this place.
There's an emptiness inside her
And she'll do anything to fill it in
But all the colors mix together - to grey
And it breaks her heart
How she wishes it was different
She prays to God most every night
And though she swears it doesn't listen
There's still a hope in her it might
She says "I pray But they fall on deaf ears,
am I supposed to take it on myself?
To get out of this place? "
There's lonliness inside her
And she'll do anything to fill it in
And though it's red blood bleeding from her now
It feels like cold blue ice in her heart
When all the colors mix together - to grey
And it breaks her heart
There's a stranger speaks outside her door
Says take what you can from your dreams
Make them as real as anything
It'd take the work out of courage
But she says "Please
There's a crazy man that's creeping outside my door,
I live on the corner of Grey Street
And the end of the world. "
There's an emptiness inside her
And she'll do anything to fill it in
And though it's red blood bleeding from her now
It's more like cold blue ice in her heart
She feels like kicking out all the windows
And setting fire to this life
She could change everything about her
Using colors bold and bright
But all the colors mix together - to grey
And it breaks her heart
It breaks her heart
To Grey

This Sucks!!!

"The Ocean"

Am I alone in this?
Never a night where I can sleep myself till day.
We must try to figure it out, figure it out.
It won't be that easy.
We lost it somehow.

You come over unannounced.
Silence broken by your voice in the dark.
I need you here tonight
Just like the ocean needs the waves.

Oh, the night becomes the space that's somewhere in between
what I feel and what i'm told.
Sitting on the shoreline trying to figure it out, figure it out.
To find out the meaning and reach it somehow.

You come over unannounced.
Silence broken by your voice in the dark.
Ineed you here tonight
just like the ocean needs the wave.
Fall around me now,
like stars that shine and brighten the way.
Ineed you here tonight just like this night it needs the rain.

The season has changed.

The wind, it moves colder now, colder now.
The clouds are raised,
the rain it falls harder now, all around.

You come over unannounced.

Silence broken by your voice in the dark.
I need you here tonight,
Just like the ocean needs the waves.
Fall around me now,
like stars that shine and brighten the way.
I need you here tonight just like this night it needs the rain.
Over unannounced, silence broken by your voice in the dark.
I need you here tonight,
Just like the ocean needs the waves.

Just like the stars that fall around me now.

Some times Mae puts things into better words then I ever could.
